I did not start with a T3 either, my starting army was normal, but the heroes are quite good. However, I lost both in auto, to a Quest which attacked me, and to a fight vs a vassal.

I just died and I'm a bit unhappy with it because there is a kind of bug with some of my units. It might not have changed the results but it might have. And more generally the AI plays really shit in auto in siege battles, but that's not something I can really complain about (though the rarity of siege battles make it hard to predict because I haven't seen that many examples), like all the units going to the same gate and then getting butchered one by one at that gate, instead of attacking two gates or my Leader phasing to stay OUTSIDE the walls! instead of phasing inside and attacking the enemy from behind.
So the bug is that my Mountain Clans unit, who have "Taunted" and thus  are supposed to always move forward and attack, were stuck in the siege, because the gates were not broken so - I assume - they could not calculate a path to the closest enemy. It means I had 2 units (out of 13) doing nothing for most of the fight, whereas I had expected them to charge forward and use their Wall Climbing to take the walls... Even on the 1st turn where the gate was broken, they didn't do anything. They only started moving the turn after...
I'm going to report the issue on the official forum.

Outside of that, it was a good Game of Thrones move, where I was stabbed in the back and didn't expect it, but it leaves a sour taste because of how the AI plays auto and that bug. Also launching that battle was really stupid, but as I said, I have troubles assessing siege battles so didn't expect such a result.

Gilafron, I don't know if you still plan to update this map or if you want to focus on Winter is Coming, but I indeed think Dorne (and the Greyjoy) should get some boosts. Stannis and Rob should probably get some nerf because they always have an easy time, without people attacking them.

I´m on vacation soon - not for long but probably without the computer, from the 2nd and to the 5th (both dates included).

I did not start with a T3 but I got some from clearing the kind of harsh bandit camps in the north.

@ all

1. Did everybody starts with a T3? Besides the one T3 my starting army was ok but not OP.

2. Maybe Martell should get a crow/WL scout because they have it harder to secure a second city?

@Eskild: you've got 24 more hours as I would anyway play my turn tomorrow.

@all:
1. Dorne's starting army is nowhere comparable to other lords of Westeros (when this game ends, I would very much like to see starting army strength)
==> Really? My starting army didn't seem crazy to me either. I think that's normal. Though some heroes are stronger than others (like Tyrion and Conversion).

2. Martells don't have any scouts available at the beginning (though I suspect it may be the case for everyone)
==> indeed, no one has and no one should have, just like in other games.

3. Dorne doesn't have the ability to build docks in the sunspear
==> yes, already discussed and I agree it should be corrected

4. Dorne doesn't have any ships
==> Casterly Rock doesn't have any either, that's normal.

5. Dorn's gold income is very low (I believe there is just a single gold mine) and with the Stannis boats + SW he's able to take most of free cities as vassals (if not all of them).
==> the Shadow Stalker is an issue and should be nerfed, at least to a Lesser one that cannot evolve I think. But I believe the incomes of all houses had been balanced so except if Gilafron changed them again, I don't think there is any issue. You're not supposed to be able to take all the Free Cities anyway. + we play with Daenerys as a player so I don't expect the Westerosi can keep the Free Cities easily.

Also I was under impression that you can't attack the player immediately after you've declared war on him? or was it applicable only to "Peace" status and not "Neutral"?
==> indeed you cannot attack directly someone you were at Peace with, that's not specific to the map.

I've surrendered in the game, so here's my feedback on House Martells:
1. Dorne's starting army is nowhere comparable to other lords of Westeros (when this game ends, I would very much like to see starting army strength)
2. Martells don't have any scouts available at the beginning (though I suspect it may be the case for everyone)

So it means you cannot play any turn until the 3rd of August?
I think it's important to keep all the players in for the Westeros map, otherwise it creates big imbalances. I could extend the turn timer to 5 days for you. I assume it should be enough to play most of the time?

The fact you joined so many games when you had a lot of free time made me worry about just what is happening now: when you have less time, you are swamped by too many games.

Unavailability.
Hi there.

The headline might not be completely true, but I have too many games (8, I think) running and it´s getting hard prioritizing which turns to make in the one half or whole hour I occasionally have during the active (awake) hours of the day.

I want to prioritize the tournament games, but I´m also in some games with many players where people might be more reluctant to let the games drag on.

Therefore, I´d like your opinion...

I´m on holiday at the moment until the 3rd of August.

I hope you can accept my absence in that period if not - please tell so, so that I can just burn my cities and concede the game (I could also merely surrender immediately)?

Cheers.

Hi!
Sorry about that! I did say I would put back the turn timer after AlX. Next time such an unavailability happens, you can just write it on the chat or on the PBEM Player Pool, to avoid having to copy/paste it in each of your game.

It's not technically possible to revert more than 2-3 turns as far as I know. And even if it was, it's a bit too late now, everybody got information when he played his turn, wrote lengthy messages (I sent a few) and that would give unfair advantages + pain in the ass to those who have already played.
There were already 12 days between turn 9 and 10 for me, that's quite long and it's hard to remember what messages I sent to the other players (which is quite important in the Westeros map) and who is where.

I'll hold off on my turn, allowing for a revert.

Yet another missed turn
Sorry fellow people urging for an iron throne.

I haven´t had time for the chore to write on every single game I´m in that I have plenty of real life stuff going on at the moment as I´ve just moved.

I didn´t realize that you´ve put the turn timer on again before it was too late.

I hope for a revert, but I don´t expect it.

@AIX, I'm not sure why you can't build a port.  I don't remember doing something like that specifically.  Though, I do think Stannis should start with a fleet to simulate Davoos' pirate friend (can't remember his name).  The SS is the shadow monster, but perhaps too strong.

Overall, I don't like Essos on this map.  On my new map, I made the free cities non-diplomatic, which makes them for show only.  Plus, they only make up like 10% of the map.  Whereas this map Essos is over 50%.

Not being able to build Ports and Stannis starting with a Shadow Stalker (a full one? that's quite strong!) does seem a bit unfair to Martells!

@AlX: I removed turn timer as you were about to miss your turn but please play your turn in 3 days... I'll put back the turn timer after you (and will put it to 1 day tomorrow if you haven't played, that may skip your turn immediately, not sure).

Gilafron, so while playing current setup I have few questions:
Martells are not able to build ship docks, nor do they have any ships, despite Sunspear being Port City - was that done on purpose?
also, as Stannis has at least one ship and SS in his possession, he is able to quickly reach free cities and vassalize them all (pretty much), whereas Oberin is left with his capitol and maybe with the Udranad (I am not sure if that was the name of the border Keep) if he takes swift action. Was that isolation intended?

I was away from pc yesterday, will try to do my turn today, please extend timer if it's still ticking!

Argh, sorry about that.
Well, if someone else skips his turn, the player after him should wait a little before playing so that I can revert if he missed it by a short time.

That probably explains why I could not upload the turn after
I played and why the turn reverted back to you.  <smiletext0>

Sorry, I thought I had a few more hours to play my turn but missed the deadline, I reverted to play it now. Olop was probably not playing soon anyway, given his timezone. Sorry for playing slow, I'm a bit busy recently to prepare the live chat event next Saturday.

I will go on a holiday with my family tomorrow and roughly a week forward, I would like the turn timer to be turned off as I can´t guarantee that I will make my turns in this period... I should be back on the 19th or 20th of June. Cheers.

I had thought of doing quests relating to cities.  Evidently, I had changed a few city relationship setting and done some relation modifiers.  But, I decided to scrap the quests.  So, that would explain what you are seeing.  I'll probably end up removing them.  My attention is on other maps.  With a little luck, maybe release a new one at the end of this weekend...

Not sure what happened but I have a -1700 relationship modifier with Riverrun (it was -100 before, I had already noted it was weird and planned to report at the end of the game) entitled "(null)" and I have a +1700 relationship modifier with King's Landing, for 16 more turns.
