Hi everyone.  As I mentioned I will not be able to play this game. However I am not able to delete myself from the roster.  I have clicked the little blue x beside my name in the list of players repeatedly but the function does not work.  So please count me out.  '

Aaand before that:
So what are the teams?  Are all players experienced players?  

I would probably prefer to avoid a new and untested mod but I will play with new mod if other players prefer.  My only concern is some odd use of changed rules creates a huge advantage for whoever figures it out??  We play a lot of hours on a game and it can be ruined?

Not much feedback from you guys! But I will host the game this evening with the 2 mods. Since Badok have agreed to try it, we have 4 people that want to play with it.

The mod seems promising, my vote is: yup. I have only one question: Can you cast conver mana node on nodes within enemy domain? If so, I think it might be a bit too much of a change... But on the other hand gives an additional layer of impeding ones foes (hey, let's swap this water mages nodes to fire, just for the lolz!). Other than that the changes seem to make sense.

Also: @rickyroo222 - your posts were team only, I think you meant them to go public.

I vote for playing with PBEM++ mod.
The changes it implements are not so crucial but interesting to test. I'm sure you enjoy them.
Me, Hellbrick and Marcus are in one team, that was the idea. King Serpents challenge you =)

Hello and welcome to all!

So we are full! First thing on the agenda is to decide if we want to trial the mod created by Hellbrick and Jean.
Hellbrick linked to the mod in his blog entry, but basically the additional things compared to the normal PBEM mod are (with a brief comment, from Hellbrick, under it):

1. All tactical combat spells cost 50% less research points. (The original combat spell prices were on par with the upgrades and strategic spells of corresponding tiers. However, due to the nature of the PBEM mode going for the mid-level combat spells was never justified, leading to the weird situation when your heroes have better combat spells than your leader.)

2.All beneficial city enchantments (except Dark ritual) can be cast on cities owned by the caster's allies. (This change makes city enchantments much easier to reason about and provides more options to the team games.)

3. Transform node no longer requires the target node to be located inside the caster's domain. (The main motivation was to allow casting it on the nodes owned by the caster’s allies.)

4. Domain of XXX spells are available for Necromancers who picked the corresponding specializations. (Even though the class has no use of them on its own, they still can be useful for casting on the cities owned by the caster's allies.)

5. The list of the spells that can be pre-researched automatically when the game starts has been revised. (This change aims to provide some equality to the starting conditions. The biggest issue here was the random choice between the lack and the availability of a starting summon, which had the capacity to make a big difference in the smaller games (especially duels on tournament

My vote is, yes lets try it! But we need 4 players to agree on it, if 3 players vote no we play without the additional mod.

Hello,

I don't mind using the PBEM++ mod, I had a look through the change notes and it's nice for a team match to be able to buff the team mates cities. I think the combat spells being half price is a bit cheap, but it wouldn't be enough to put me off using the mod!

I'd like to suggest using the PBEM++ mod by Jean and yours truly. It builds on top of the balance mod and makes experience a bit nicer =)

On an unrelated note: what map size are we going to use, M or L?
