I had a tough lie here as I was tucked in the corner with not much room to move. It is worth noting that I was halfling rogue and not human rogue. Not sure if I should challenge or something to fix or I doubt it is worth fixing at this point.

I lost my cavalry early on and then got caught by an enemy wizard.  I played really bad.  But, it was fun for the five or so rounds that I was around.

@Fist Mate, tigrans should be forbidden to be so mobile
I was forced to defend at all times, due to the lack of vision <smiletext0> couldn't spare some units to clean the camps on the other side of the Throne City <smiletext0> anyways, well played and congrats I guess <smiletext0>

@Hilliadan, yeah, that clash crippled me too  it took all my chances of holding against Fist <smiletext0>

I made 3 big mistakes in that game, that changed the balance of power, as you can see in the stats...  I was way ahead all of you but in like 3 turns, I lost everything.

1/ after I killed rrrookie, I didn't see you had taken his city West of the underground exit. So I started to go West... then I realized the mistake and backed up but had not enough move points. The turn after, my 3 stacks were dead....

2/ I tried to attack AlX with my main army (my leader, with Elite units, including 2 regrowth Troll) but I failed to think he was on artic and may have concealed units. From a "very likely victory" (in my mind), it went into a big loss. So my two main armies were dead...

3/ seeing that your army was on the North, I hoped to take your Throne undefended and sent one reserve stack there. I managed to take the Throne but you came back soon and my last stack was dead. I should not have gone there without the support of Cherub for intel (you had killed the one I sent just before I attacked if I remember correctly).

At that point, I had almost my 8th Goblin city but no army left and my leader was in the void... Then you started attacking North with scouts... then South...

Well... I was my own undoing. :'(

My Throne city was like 3 turns from where you were, with no defender. So I surrendered. Congratz Fistandantilus! It was a nice 1st ladder game for me!
I let you report it.

Well, it's up to you I think, I don't even know where your capitol is so it will definitely take awhile before the final confrontation <smiletext0>

I read only now about AlX. I captured his throne city the turn after he surrendered, and sent his leader in the void the turn before so I think it didn't matter much, he didn't have but a couple of units left at that point.

As a matter of fact the war between the Tigrans and Frostlings was an emotional rollercoaster for the better of 30 turns. I initially lost my throne city but fought back and captured an undead town, then comes Undead Plague which crippled my growth so much... Was lots of fun, I'm kinda sad it ended, kudos to AlX for a well fought game.

I think it's done now. I had still a (very very small) chance as long as my leader and group was alive, but I didn't see the stack from the East coming, so now I can surrender I guess.

We're 2 left: Fistandantilus and I.

AlX, you surrendered.... so it also breaks the "no quitter" rule. I think you knew it as I posted here about that, regarding Hannibal's surrender, so that's not nice from you. Consider yourself warned: games should be played until you are defeated.

Eheh, you're welcome, my pleasure!

By the way, Hannibal2000, in theory you should not have surrendered. Players are supposed to stay until the end of the match and their defeat. That's the "no quitter" rule here.
I discussed it with Markymark who said ", the players have to decide if someone is a quitter, hannibal play slow in some pbems (maybe he shall get a warning)". I think for the "slow", he was referring to the time where you were away (he was probably not aware).

Anyway, try to avoid surrendering in the future maybe?

We significantly reduced the number of survivors in 2 turns! Good luck to the remaining players!

Sorry Hannibal, I hope the turn you missed was not a big handicap, but given what I know, I think things would have been difficult for you anyway.

EDIT: edited an information, should post it later when it has no way to influence the game

rrrookie said "I will be out of town without internet access from 6:00 Thursday, August 27 through 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30 [US central time]. If we could keep the turns at 3 or 7 days that would be greatly appreciated."

So I'll keep the turn timer until the end of August.

By the way, sorry Hannibal that you had to miss your turn but I think 7 days is the maximum we can accept if we want to finish the game before 2017.

Hannibal warned he would be away on August 18-27, so I'm afraid he'll miss his current turn.
Then we should soon be back to normal and I'll set the turn timer to 1 day again.

Hi everyone!

Sorry, AoW3 crashed just after launching my turn so I had to restart the turn. I missed the screenshot of the error message. <smiletext6>
Rookie, I guess actually you did do your turn in your laptop but it wasn't uploaded correctly because it's written you reloaded the turns too.

I hope it won't happen again for both of us.

So, we've got 3 turns restarted so far:
- 1 by Hannibal
- 1 by rookie
- 1 by Hiliadan

I've just increased the turn timer to 7 days. I'll see if I increase it further but I think 7 days could be a maximum, even if some people miss their turn, otherwise the game will be slowed too much.

It will stay to 7 days until 27 August (see posts below).

Fistandantilus has issues to post a gaming blog right now, hopefully it will be solved soon. So what he said:
"Anyway, I'm on vacation from the 8th to the 16th of August included."

So I'll increase the turn timer to 7 days from next week on.

By the way, RIP Gilafron! :o I won't make more comments now because it would give indications to everyone (please do the same) but it will be interesting to comment that at the end of the game.

Hello everyone!

Just to check if one of you had planned to be away for some days so that I can extend the turn timer for that period? Fistandantilus especially, when will you be away in August, I'm not sure you said the exact date.

Was able to play it after the revert, thanks!

Issue was when I tried to open the turn it simply didn't finish the download part and popped me back to the main manu with a 'download failed' message.

I didn't think about taking a screenshot, I'll make sure to do it if this happens again (hopefully it won't). Sorry for the delay.

Hiliadan >> Reset of game turn
Hi everybody!

Fistandantilus reported me he had an issue to download the latest turn and asked if I can revert it. He said he tried several times to load it, on 2 different PCs.

So I'm going to revert the turn and replay mine. I hope it can solve the issue.
Fistandantilus, it would be great if you could get a printscreen and post it here to show us the issue. Same applies for similar problem for anyone in the future.

Hi all!

AlxStormRage, unfortunately, we already did a full turn so we cannot revert to your turn 1. Sorry about that (but that would not have happened if you had paid attention to v1.602 in the first place).

I extend the turn timer to 3 days because Fistandantilus is away until Sunday, as announced earlier. That way, he will be able to play his turn.

If you know you won't be available at some point, please say it in advance so that we can see how we deal with it.

Ok I just got my answer, Hannibal completed his turn just after I posted. So we'll see how we deal with AIXStormRage later.

Anyway, it looks like reverting one turn + waiting for turn timer to expire works with the "beta" issue.

(published on the "gaming blog" of PBEM 5)

Hannibal2000, are you able to play your turn now? Or should I revert to the turn of Fistandantilus as he suggested so that AIXStormRage can replay entirely his turn with v1.602?

We do not have any answer from AIXStormRage to confirm he played with the beta and can / want to use the v1.602... But at the same time, noone said he was interested to replace players from PBEM 5, so a restart without AIXStormRage does not look like a good option either.

I reverted the turn to AIXStormrage and send him a PM through the in-game message system. We'll see what he says / does.

Regarding the point (extension of turn timer for exceptional case during the Summer) I mentioned in my PM, I would like to get your feedback.
