Confirmed by Jean_de_Metz
Hey! Here are some screenshots of the score which I made during my last turn. Since I did that after the battle with El Lobo it would be fair and correct to add some points to his score.

In general he has already told everything about the game: it wasn't really interesting this time <smiletext6>

Game is over in turn 33. I really like to have a look at the statistics but I watched the last battle where my leader was killed and havn't had an option to take a look. Jean, Hellbrick, do you have some screens of the statistics? Congratulation btw. ;-)

I have had a good start getting an AD hero on the first turn. I did some clearing built a cheetah and summoned 2 or 3 more until turn 10. My tactic was to quickly get a 2nd stack for clearing and take control of the UG, get some vassals and then attack from the back. For my defense I planned to built MH with trail running and of the beaten path to catch enemy scouts and then counter attack with some hit and run tactics. But...

Earl have had a bad starting position. He was situated on a small island with only one way to go and a lot of nasty terrain. Anyways all went well more or less until turn 16. Jean killed nearly all of Earl's troops losing only one unit.

At that point I had to decide if I follow my own plan, clearing the UG and try to backstab or going to help Earl and prevent him from an early defeat. I changed my route in the UG, gave away vasallising some dragons, collected some buffs and positioned my troops at a cave entrance near Earl's domain. I was waiting for Jean with a befrieded dire bear on elite and vampire spider queen on silver medal, leader level 13, AD level 11 and some elite starting units but unfortunatly he didn't try to eliminate Earl right after the fight shown above.

After I wasted two turns waiting for Jean I followed my unitial plan and made my way through the UG. I was still confident because I already founded two cities, raised militia about 10 times and already build some MH. Then there were this nasty event omen of the dove. My cheetahs and MH are really crappy units during this event and therefore I lost 4 cheetahs against some indies in turn 18 (baby shock serpent, shock serpent and blight boar) and another 4 plus a MH in turn 21 (4 lost souls and a reanimator). At that point my defense was nearly erased and I knew I would get in trouble because I couldn't guard my entrances anymore.

Shortly after that I was attacked by a zephir and some drones playing hide and seek with me and hiding on lava nearly all the time. At that point the game was lost because a WL has no units with lava walking, floating or flying at that stage of the game. Additionally I havn't found a cave entrance to launch a counter attack with my leader and AD. I have had 2,5 stacks with a lot of elite units but i just found an entrance leading to some frost terrain which is not that good for my tigrans. I decided to try an attack through the water but against the hunters with water concealment my chances for a surprising attack were quite low. At some point around turn 27 I lost the focuse on that game when Earl was defeated and I still couldn't find an entrance leading to the realms of Jean and Hellbrick.

After Earl was defeated I lost so much vision and disembarked my leader stack near a city of Jean. It was no big deal for him to kill the stack. My AD with elite MH and some animals didn't get a chance to proof their fighting skills.

All in all a deserved win for Jean and Hellbrick. Earl was a bit to confident entering enemy domain without adequat scouting and I was unlucky with indies and the cave entrances.

Well, you should have asked before because I thought this was dealt with.
Turns can't be reverted in tournaments, please proceed.

If needed, you should get an extension for the time lost due to the judgement times in your game.

It's turn 32. And it will stay this way until we get your ruling on how to proceed after El Lobo's turn was skipped by the timer. Any news on that?

Hi! 22+ days left before the end of round, what turn did you reach?

user
Published on Sun, 03 Feb 2019 19:48:30 +0100

It was weekend and I am not online since saturday after lunch. I though there would be enough time to do my (last) turn in time.

user

Turns can't be reverted in tournaments as it would allow exploits. So I'm afraid it's a turn lost. Let me check with other judges.
Also next time, please post before the turn expires and potentially remove the turn timer before if you see it's going to expire.

I couldn't make it in time but I am online now and for the next 4 hours. Just reset the turn please.

El Lobo's turn has been skipped by timer. According to the rules, we must stop the timer, notify the judges and await further instructions. This counts as notifying the judges, right?

El Lobo provided a video showing clearly the freeze so he gets a warning for reload with adequate proof. You can continue.

Thanks, received. I sent a PM to Marcus and Jonny, should have a decision soon.

I think there is settings that allow you to simply share a link, and anyone with that specific link can watch or download the file.
The absolute best solution would probably be to upload the video to YouTube and set the video to private, and then share the link in a PM to me, Hiliadan and Jonny.

But we can also try the dropbox solution, so send the URL in a PM and we try that first.
You can read more about sharing here.

I uploaded the file in my dropbox. Do I need to send the e-mal address to the judges or what is necessary for you to get access to the file? I just intalled the dropbox years ago to share some photos with friends but I don't have aclue how it works.

Hey guys,

I have had a crash. Not a real crash because I was in a fight an could click on my units but they could not move, not defend and I could not end my turn. It tried everything what comes to my mind but nothing happened. I quitted the aow-launcher via the task manager. The video is very long (1 hour 43 minutes) because I was waching TV while playing and several times I did nothing for some minutes.

Hey guys, does anyone know what's up with EarL? It's second time in a row he's taking a really long time to play his turn.

Since he hasn't warned us about his absence, I'm setting the turn timer to 1 day, as per the rules.

user

All in all it's good to record my turns from now on. I needn't be afraid of more crashed and can play way more calm.

After discussion among judges, we give a warning without adequate proof to El Lobo. It's pretty bad that you didn't have debug mode enabled despite the request to have it. Please remember to enable it.
So we are requesting recording of full turns from El Lobo. For now, the files can be deleted after the turn is played if there is no crash (to save space on the disk). As explained on the chat, there are ways to reduce the file size.

@all other players: please also play in debug mode.

After hours of trying and struggling with the settings I got that OBS thing working. This was anything but easy! I'll record my turns from now on but the size of the data from recordings more than half an hour is huge. Hopefully I'll have no more crashes. The upload of the recorded file will take hours...

As I wrote there is nothing I can send. The screens just shows the game launcher but my mouse pointer isn't on the screen. I can try to make a video when I enter the game again so that you can see that there is no difficult fight this turn. Anyways my first attempt tomake a video failed. I already wrote Hiliadan about this problem which is according to google well known.

I've had my suspicions before in regards to "crashes leading to crashes" but have nothing to prove it. Please send what screenshots and logs you have and we will have a look, remember, when you have a crash you are not supposed to enter and play your turn again.

You must pause the game until we send you a message you are able to play again. Please confirm this.

So here we go with the next crash. Same procedure like before. Positioning at the beginning of the fight and after I opened the spellbook the screen freezes. Different was that this time the game was closed. I have only a screen of the launcher with my stucked mouse pointer. Additionally I have no log file because I forgot the enable it again after my first crash. I had to disabled the debug mode to enter the game again after my first crash.

As I said after my 1st crash imo something is wrong with this tournament mod. Turn 10 and thats the 4th crash. 2nd crash for me after weeks without problems. Get your own view on that thing...

Edit: Just checked the screen. There is no mouse pointer on that screen so I have nothing to proove my innocence. Yep, that's what's gaming about. Having fun!

Hi! El Lobo gets a warning with proof as he sent appropriate screenshot and debug log.
You can continue. We'll put your game under additional scrutiny due to the high number of crashes.

Hi! Jean had a PC shutdown so it's definitely unrelated to the mod and nobody else is having crash in the other games so I doubt it is related to the mod. The version was (and is still) also tested on several games for several months.

Yes please do send the screenshots and log file to Jonny, Marcus and me. What turn are you in?

Hey everybody, I just have had a crash and I am really pissed. I havn't got crashes since weeks, month even and this is the 3rd crash in this game. We havn't reached turn 10...

For me it seems like this tournament mod is unstable but this is really annoying in a tournament match. I just did some positioning in a fight an then the screen freezes. I got an assertion failed message. I made some screens and played in debug mode so I can send the log file.

Hi,

Jean gets a warning for reload without proof.
Jonny thinks it might be because of overheating and suggest you "renew the dried out cooling paste".

You need to play in debug mode so that there is a log when the game crashes.
The game can now continue.

Hello,

Jean informed us via PM that he had a crash, so:
"Please pause the game for now until the judges can have a look at it.

If there is any turn timer, that should be turned off.

Do not play the turn or enter the game again."

Do you have the crash log from the game? It should be found in "my games / AOW3 / Logs"

If you have the log you can send it via a PM to me, Jonny and Hiliadan.

Hi! EarL gets a warning for reload with adequate proof. You can continue.

@EarL: please play in debug mode from now on, so that we can at least get crash logs in case of troubles. Thanks!

Hi everyone

Can you confirm the game is paused and that you wait for Earl to get his warning (with or without proof)?
We wait for Hiliadan's feedback before we can make a ruling.

Thanks for your patience!

Yes, what matters it the map setup so you're fine. Anyway you'll see fast if you're in the wrong teams.

I'm seeing it too: game list, map setup. I've never noticed whether players are listed in the same order in these two places before the game is started. It looks like the game list displays players in the order they joined the game, so it's probably fine. Let's hear it from the judges though, just to be safe.
