I think Markimark agreed to the change (I let him confirm) so rematch should happen only in round 5. The Cup Roster should be updated.

16 players tournament: only 1 match left, AlX vs me. We will probably need the full 2 months to finish it.
Archer01 still hasn't shown up. Redil confirmed he can play round 3.

8 players tournament: 1 match left: Kwibus vs JonnyThunder.

The point is not that you may end up playing the same player twice.
In a double elim tourney it is common for the same two players to
have a rematch later in the tourney.

The point is how long until that happens.  In the original setup, the
same two players could meet in round #3.  With the minor adjustment
to the bracket I suggested, the first time two players have a chance to
meet for the second time is in round #5.

Personally I prefer playing against as many different opponents as
possible before encountering a rematch.

For me this is not a problem to play the same player this is normal in that kind of tournament with double branch because all players who have lost can go to the final and one of the 2 players in final must have lose for go in final and one player must never lose for go in final, you have a second chance and win the second time is more important  or you go out of the tournament . And for the final we can have 2 players who have play behind in the tournament no chose...

As Olop have noted some of us are meeting a player we have already faced in the tournament in round 3. I hope there is someway to rearrange.

Yes, I think it's a good idea and do-able.
I also asked a question about how best to mix the 2 tournaments on the official forum: http://aow.triumph.net/forums... (maybe it's on page 1 of the topic actually). Feedback welcome there.

Also, the list of players eliminated so far after the double elimination:
- Gilafron
- Castaneda
- olschenstein

All other players are still in (reminder: you need to lose twice to be eliminated).

Can we mix up the winners vs losers in round 3 a little?

The way the brackets are set up you can play the same player
you played in the first round in round #3.  If you rotate where
the losers drop to in round #3 a couple slots, then the rematches
wait till round #5.

Something like this would work better:

    winner #13  vs  loser  #11     (currently is loser #9)

    winner #14  vs  loser  #12     (currently is loser #10)

    winner #15  vs  loser   #9      (currently is loser #11)

    winner #16  vs  loser   #10    (currently is loser #12)

This way, you won't meet the same opponent till the round #5,
the next to last loser bracket round (game #26 and #27).

Bethrezen, we've found someone to play against you: Pothead Pixie. He should be ready soon. You need to host as he doesn't have EL DLC but he needs to be 1st player.

@16 players tournament: only one match still ongoing: me vs AlX. We still have more than a month to finish it.
Archer vs Redil is a WO for both, Redil will probably qualify for the next round (to be confirmed).

@8 players tournament: 1 match ongoing + 1 match to be started (Bethrezen) so the round will probably last until its deadline (+ maybe extension for Bethrezen vs Pothead).

I am left without words... Did you realize that a PBEM tournament will last several months? It's supposed to last 12 months (6 rounds * 2 months).

Anyway, it looks like we now have to look for another reserve player!

Lck doesn't seem to understand how to host a game and hasn't replied our latest MP. So I suggest we give him 24 hours and then replace him by a reserve player if he hasn't shown up.

Ok! Redil answered my PM today and said he is quite busy with work. I asked him if it would changed in the next month, as he would still have time to play the match.

Still no news from MrRoivas and Lck. To be confirmed with Markymark but I think we should give them 48 hours, maximum 72 hours, to show up here, otherwise, their seats will be given to players in the reserve list.

I contacted Redil when I joined this site if he was interested in an 1 vs 1 as we played a duel before I joined this site as well and it was very close.

He didn't respond for a few days and then after a while he replied that he was very busy with work until atleast the end of the year and that he would contact me again in January.
